Apart from the parks, there are other protected areas: the Riserva naturale orientata Parma Morta (located in a large flood-bed of the Po river extending for 5 km between the mouth of the Enza and Parma streams, with flora and fauna typical of the wetlands), the Riserva naturale orientata Monte Prinzera, the largest in the Region (set up in 1992 to preserve an ophiolite rocky mass of the Jurassic era: this is a treasure trove of geologic elements, landscape, flora and fauna, all extraordinarily precious) the Tourist Centre Mount Fuso (near Scurano, characterized by the presence of deer, fallow deer and roe, and equipped for Camper vans stopping over as well as for didactic and tourist activities, the Oasi “Cavaliere d’Italia" – Stilt Plover Reserve in Torrile, created by Lipu (Italian bird association) to encourage the stopover and nest-building of these water-birds, and equipped with a series of observation sheds.
